Exotic Pets At North Tollway Pet Hospital

At North Tollway Pet Hospital, we are please to offer you veterinary services for your “exotic” friend.  We provide services for ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs, pot-bellied pigs, rabbits, sugar gliders, rats, mice, lizards of all types, snakes of all types, turtles, most birds and other small but important pets.

Your ferret should be examined yearly by one of our qualified veterinarians.  A stool sample to check for any intestinal parasites should be considered during this annual check up.  Vaccines are available for ferrets and can be discussed with you during your visit.  Common problems associated with ferrets include diarrhea, parasites and cancer.  Any loss of appetite or abnormal behavior should alert you to a potential problems and the need for veterinary assistance.

Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Rats & Mice
These guys as well as several of our other small but cherished furry pets need veterinary care too!  If your pet stops eating, appears not as active as normal, has discharge from the eyes or nose or you notice a lump/bump on their body you should seek veterinary assistance. In some of these small furry pets, their teeth continuously grow and can require assistance.

Bearded Dragons & Other Lizards
All reptiles should have yearly examinations and checked for parasites.  A lot of problems we see with these interesting creatures are nutrition related problems.  We strongly advise you to set up a nutritional consultation with one of our veterinarians to discuss how you may best avoid these conditions.

Rabbits are susceptible to a variety of conditions including hairballs, overgrown teeth, parasites and cancer.  If your rabbit stops eating, appears not as active as normal or has a discharge from their eyes and/or nose, you should him/her examined by one of our veterinarians.

Pocket Pets
We provide medical assistance and surgical procedures for a variety of other exotic pets as well.  If your pet is not listed, just ask us.
